SIMPLE PILAU RECIPE WITH MEAT

WAITHERERO DAR-LING

At this point, mama Njeri and her family are just wildin. Let me introduce you to Waitherero Dar-Ling, mama Njeri’s sister.

She moved to Mombasa 6 months ago and somehow caught an American accent; don’t ask me, I don’t know where she got it from, but I can tell you for a fact, her cooking wasn’t as international.

Waitherero came to visit her sister and in her words. “Achieng, I’m going to make you the best Swahili Pilau today”.

“It’s true my sister is just from Mombasa and she learnt how to make it there”. Mama Njeri reinforced.

Mmmh Waitherero made us a mixture of rice and beef with potatoes and somehow managed to squeeze in water in all her chaos. Now tell me how someone cooks Pilau that has water! I mean explain! And why I’m I biting raw garlic and ginger in the pilau?

Why is it so sour? Waitherero Dar- Ling you just played me, but it is okay your family enjoyed it.
