MAMA NJERI CAME THROUGH FOR US
When it was announced that the world was shutting down, people went on a panic mode and panic bought food stuffs. For the rich here in Kenya, they bought lots of meat; fish, chicken, and beef. But for the struggling population they bought what they could, and most days that is vegetables. One vegetable in particular saved lots of families from sleeping hungry including myself; that was cabbages.
Cabbages are economical, healthy, long lasting and can be eaten with just about anything; ugali, chapati, rice, bread, and potatoes.
We were lucky to have Mama Njeri as our neighbor; she shared her cabbages with us during that difficult period. Thank you Mama Njeri for your generosity, we appreciate you.
I know you have a cabbage story too, so what’s your cabbage story? And was there a Mama Njeri in your life?
