SIMPLE PORRIDGE RECIPE WITH LEMONS/LIME ( MEAL PLAN KENYA WINTER FOOD TIMETABLE)

 The Kenyan porridge can be made from different types of  flours. 

White maize flour, peanut, millet maize flour, millet, sorghum maize flour and for kids omena, groundnut , millet, sorghum maize flour. 

Today I will teach you how to make porridge. Easy, quick and takes only 5 minutes. 

During those cold days especially in July, porridge is that warm meal you will need to add to your weekly food timetable.



Prep: 5 Minutes

Cook: 7 minutes

Total: 12 minutes


INGREDIENTS

  • A hand full of Maize Flour
  • 1/2 lemon
  • Sugar to taste
  • Water
INSTRUCTIONS
PART 1
  • In a bowl mix in your maize flour



  • Add in your sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Add in water and stir well


PART 2

  • In a sufuria put in water and bring to a boil


  • Slowly add in your mixture and stir for at least 2 minutes until water mixes well with the maize flour.


  • Add in your freshly squeezed lemon/lime


  • Let to boil for 5 minutes and then serve.

  • You can add in Blueband or Peanut butter to your served porridge.
