The Kenyan porridge can be made from different types of flours.
White maize flour, peanut, millet maize flour, millet, sorghum maize flour and for kids omena, groundnut , millet, sorghum maize flour.
Today I will teach you how to make porridge. Easy, quick and takes only 5 minutes.
During those cold days especially in July, porridge is that warm meal you will need to add to your weekly food timetable.
Prep: 5 Minutes
Cook: 7 minutes
Total: 12 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- A hand full of Maize Flour
- 1/2 lemon
- Sugar to taste
- Water
INSTRUCTIONS
PART 1
- In a bowl mix in your maize flour
- Add in your sugar 2 tablespoons
- Add in water and stir well
PART 2
- In a sufuria put in water and bring to a boil
- Slowly add in your mixture and stir for at least 2 minutes until water mixes well with the maize flour.
- Add in your freshly squeezed lemon/lime
- Let to boil for 5 minutes and then serve.
- You can add in Blueband or Peanut butter to your served porridge.
